~ Spokane, WA - On Thursday, June 19, Spokane City Hall will be closed in observance of Juneteenth, a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved Black Americans. This decision was announced by Erin Hut, the Communications Director for Spokane City.
In addition to City Hall, other city services will also be affected by the holiday. The Spokane Municipal Court and Community Justice Services, all branches of the Spokane Public Library, and the Development Services Center will also be closed on Juneteenth.
However, there are some exceptions to the closures. On-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payments on Juneteenth. However, it is important to note that all parking rules, including time limits, still apply even when parking is free on holidays.
