Citizens for WV Election Integrity C4WVEI
CHARLESTON, W.Va. - Washingtoner -- A growing grassroots coalition is shaking up the conversation on election security and transparency in West Virginia. Citizens for West Virginia Election Integrity (C4WVEI) is already making a significant impact on policy, process, and public awareness.

Made up entirely of concerned West Virginian citizen volunteers from across the state, C4WVEI includes professionals in cybersecurity, IT, law, election administration, legislation, communications, and former election clerks—alongside sitting members of the House and Senate. Their unified goal? To secure the sanctity of West Virginia's elections and restore public confidence in the process.

A Movement That's Delivering Results

Since its founding in late 2023, C4WVEI has transformed civic concern into measurable legislative and operational wins:

🗳️ Legislative Influence
  • Facilitated the establishment of the West Virginia Election Integrity Caucus in August 2024
  • Reviewed every election-related bill in the 2025 legislative session
  • Endorsed 27 bills and opposed 2 bills
  • 8 endorsed bills passed both chambers, including a ban on Ranked Choice Voting and a requirement for Photo ID at the polls
  • Both opposed bills were successfully defeated, including a bill that would have removed a voter's right to photograph their completed ballot

🧾 Operational Impact
  • Launched a Registration Audit Center to detect and correct invalid or duplicate voter registrations
  • Partnered with national and local watchdogs like True the Vote, Election Integrity Network, and Fight Voter Fraud, as well as WV-based groups MOVCAC and BasedDataWV
  • Presented documented cases of election fraud and anomalies to West Virginia election officials

"We are here to create clarity, transparency, and citizen trust in West Virginia elections" said a C4WVEI spokesperson. "We want every West Virginian—regardless of party—to feel confident that their vote counts and counts accurately."

Why This Story Matters Now

Across the country, voters are demanding cleaner voter rolls, real audits, and transparency in how elections are run. West Virginia is now leading the way in grassroots-led reform, and C4WVEI is at the center of that movement.

This is not just about complaints—it's about constructive, organized, and highly informed action. From writing legislation to auditing registration data, this citizen-led movement is turning concern into accountability.

Next Steps: A Call for Civic Partnership

C4WVEI isn't slowing down. Upcoming efforts include:
  • Collaborating with local and state officials and volunteer citizens to clean up voter rolls by importing a new website operational in several states, Check My Vote
  • Expanding their Registration Audit Center's data analysis capabilities
  • Continuing engagement with county clerks on vulnerabilities and best practices
  • Supporting legislation aligned with election transparency, and opposing anything that threatens it; legislative targets are registration, transparent & decentralized tabulation, and comprehensive auditing of the voting results

📣 Want to join the effort? C4WVEI welcomes volunteers, experts, and concerned citizens to be part of the solution. If you'd like to get involved, please email us at citizens4wvelectionintegrity@gmail.com.
