Beloved SWFL baker, entrepreneur, and author Bess "LadyCakes" Charles celebrates the release of her new children's book, The Courage of Cookie Dough, with a series of local events across Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Fort Myers Beach this fall.

CAPE CORAL, Fla. - Washingtoner -- Beloved Southwest Florida baker, entrepreneur, and author Bess "LadyCakes" Charles is proud to announce the release of her second children's book, The Adventures of LadyCakes: The Courage of Cookie Dough. The book officially goes on sale October 15, 2025, and will be celebrated with a series of community events across Cape Coral, Fort Myers, and Fort Myers Beach.

About the Book

The Courage of Cookie Dough follows the journey of a shy little blob of cookie dough who feels out of place in a world full of bold desserts. With the help of LadyCakes, Cookie Dough learns that being different is exactly what makes him special. This whimsical story, full of frosting, sprinkles, and heart, teaches children the power of courage and self-acceptance.

This book is the second in Charles's series, following her debut, The Adventures of LadyCakes: Kindness is Sweet (2019).
