City of Tacoma Invites Community to Play a Direct Role in Search for Next City Manager

~ The City of Tacoma has announced that they are on the hunt for a new City Manager and are seeking input from community members to aid in the selection process. The survey, available on tacoma.gov/cmrecruitment, will be open from October 17, 2025 to November 14, 2025.

As the City Manager is a crucial leadership role responsible for implementing the City Council's policy priorities, the community's input is highly valued. The City Council's priorities are a reflection of their engagement with the residents of Tacoma.

With a biennial budget of $4.7 billion and over 4,000 employees under their supervision, the City Manager plays a vital role in ensuring that programs and services align with the City Council's goals in serving the Tacoma community. It is essential that this work is carried out strategically, efficiently, and transparently.

The survey consists of four questions and takes approximately five minutes to complete. The responses gathered will inform the City Council's decision in selecting a candidate who embodies the values, priorities, and needs of Tacoma.

This nationwide search aims to find a qualified individual who will lead the city towards continued growth and success.
