~ The Tacoma City Council is currently on the lookout for individuals to join the Community's Police Advisory Committee (CPAC). The committee has six vacant positions, representing Council District Nos. 1, 4, and 5, a youth position for ages 16-18, and two at-large positions.

As an advisory panel to the City Council, CPAC plays a crucial role in providing recommendations and advice on Tacoma Police Department (TPD) policies. This includes reviewing police procedures, rules, training, completed investigations, and programs at the request of the City Council or City Manager. Additionally, CPAC promotes awareness of the public complaint process and handles policy complaints from members of the community.

The committee also serves as a bridge between TPD and the community by fostering understanding and promoting TPD services and resources. They also facilitate community conversations on issues related to public safety.
