~ The Tacoma City Council is currently on the lookout for new members to join the Bicycle and Pedestrian Technical Advisory Group (BPTAG). The group is responsible for promoting and improving active transportation in Tacoma, including walking, biking, skating, and using assistive mobility devices.

The council is seeking to fill three adult member positions, one youth position (age 16-18), and one alternate member position (adult or youth). All members must be residents of Tacoma. Adult members serve a term of three years, while youth members serve for one year with the option for renewal.

BPTAG meetings are held on the fourth Monday of every month from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The meetings are conducted in a hybrid format, allowing both virtual and in-person attendance.

Members of BPTAG play a crucial role in prioritizing new bicycle and pedestrian projects throughout Tacoma. They also provide valuable feedback on the design of active transportation projects, develop policies to improve safety and access, give input on programs and events related to active transportation, and bring community concerns to the attention of city staff and leaders.
