Delay in the planned opening of Haven Treatment Center for foster children.

VANCOUVER, Wash. - Washingtoner -- Haven Treatment Center is staffed and ready to begin their mission to support children ages 5-17 with their mental health, particularly those displaced by the foster care system and who are victims of human trafficking throughout Washington state.

Despite being fully furnished and staffed, Haven Treatment Center is currently experiencing delays in receiving their 2nd Certificate of Occupancy. The City of Vancouver is focused on resolving details regarding parking spaces which is preventing Haven Treatment Center from opening their doors to children who desperately need a stable support system.

Once operational, Haven Treatment Center will offer robust programming designed to enrich client' minds and encourage healing through individualized clinical care, activities, and academics. Currently clients are on waitlists in which they are having to move to emergency rooms or needing to receive treatment out of state.

Haven Treatment Center is actively urging the city to resolve this matter quickly to ensure care based on mental health parity, in compliance with Washington State bill 1432.
