Further investigation led detectives to an apartment in north Spokane, where it appeared that the crime was pre-planned and the victim was lured to that location. As a result, five suspects were taken into custody, all of whom were minors between the ages of 15-17.
Three of the suspects had their cases remanded to Spokane Superior Court while the other two remained in Juvenile Superior Court. The charges against them include 1st Degree Kidnapping with a firearm enhancement, 2nd Degree Assault, and Robbery.
The swift identification of both the victim and suspects was made possible through collaboration between multiple units within SPD. Officer Strassenberg commended their efforts in bringing about a quick resolution to this disturbing incident.
