Single box solution simplifies billing and delivers superior customer experience on Utopia Fiber's Open Access Network

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Washingtoner -- netElastic, a leading innovator in software solutions for broadband, today announced that SUMOFIBER, a leading US broadband service provider operating on Utopia Fiber's open-access wholesale network, completed the successful deployment of netElastic's virtual Broadband Network Gateway (vBNG) solution, which includes integrated Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT). The move replaces legacy infrastructure with a modern, software-defined platform that has dramatically improved subscriber management, billing reliability, and operational efficiency - enabling SUMOFIBER to continue its rapid geographic expansion while maintaining its signature combination of outstanding local service and affordable pricing.

"As our A10 Networks CGNAT appliance approached end-of-service, we began evaluating high-performance alternatives," said Dave Burr, President of SUMOFIBER. "When we discovered netElastic, we found netElastic CGNAT delivered the performance we needed at a much better price point. It makes sense since netElastic CGNAT runs on cost-effective Intel x86-based servers. That led us to netElastic vBNG. It was a lights-on moment for us when we found vBNG."

The vBNG automates subscriber provisioning, configuration changes, and session management through software-defined networking. This eliminates the manual work and expensive hardware that previously stood between SUMOFIBER and a streamlined network.

"One of our cities had complex configurations requiring unique S-tag/C-tag combinations per customer, which made our Juniper core extremely complicated to manage," Burr added. "netElastic vBNG handled it easily. The biggest surprise, though, is the support has been exceptional."

Weixiao Liu, CEO of netElastic, commented on the partnership: "SUMOFIBER's success story perfectly illustrates why service providers are turning to software solutions like our vBNG. By delivering carrier-grade routing, AAA integration, flexible service plans, and rock-solid billing controls on cost-effective Intel x86 servers, we're helping ISPs like SUMOFIBER scale rapidly without the burden of expensive proprietary hardware. We are proud to support SUMOFIBER's continued growth and are committed to delivering the same exceptional support that has already become a highlight of this partnership."
