On the heels of Fulton County DA, Fani Willis' official endorsement, Dr. Heavenly Kimes Announces her Black Economic Agenda

ATLANTA - Washingtoner -- On the heels of an endorsement from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, Dr. Heavenly Kimes, healthcare provider, business owner, and candidate for Congress in Georgia's 13th District, has unveiled a comprehensive Black Economic Agenda centered on addressing the real challenges facing working families across the state.

Kimes' plan focuses on lowering costs, expanding access to healthcare and education, strengthening economic opportunity, and ensuring safer, healthier communities.

"I'm Dr. Heavenly Kimes—a doctor, a wife, a mother, and a business owner. I've seen firsthand what families are going through," said Kimes. "People are tired of being ignored. They want solutions. They want leadership. They want someone who will stand up, speak out, and deliver real results. That's why I'm running."

Healthcare: Affordable and Accessible
Kimes' healthcare priorities include expanding Medicaid, strengthening Medicare, and making the Affordable Care Act permanent. She also plans to lower prescription drug costs, reduce insurance premiums, and increase access to preventative, dental, and mental health services.

"People are suffering from things that are preventable," Kimes said. "That should never happen in this country."

Education: Opportunity Without Debt
Her education agenda focuses on capping student loan interest, expanding loan forgiveness, investing in HBCUs and workforce training, and ensuring equitable school funding.

"Education should open doors—not trap you in debt," she added.

Economy: Lower Costs, Build Wealth
Kimes' economic plan targets rising costs of everyday necessities while supporting small businesses with access to capital and tax relief. She also emphasizes financial literacy, homeownership opportunities, and strengthening programs like SNAP for families in need.

"I've built businesses and created jobs—I know what it takes to grow an economy from the ground up," Kimes said.

Community Investment and Infrastructure
Kimes' plan also includes investments in infrastructure, such as repairing roads and bridges, expanding high-speed internet access, and modernizing water systems. She emphasizes job creation through infrastructure projects and improving overall quality of life for residents.

"When we invest in infrastructure, we invest in jobs, safety, and the future of our communities," she said.

Environmental Justice and Public Safety
Kimes is calling for stronger environmental protections in underserved communities, including clean air, safe drinking water, and accountability for pollution. She also supports criminal justice reforms that focus on fairness, rehabilitation, and mental health response while maintaining public safety.

"Safety comes from strong communities," Kimes said. "We must invest in solutions that lift people up, not just punish them."

Immigration and Balanced Reform
Her agenda includes strengthening border security while ensuring humane treatment, creating pathways to citizenship, and modernizing visa and asylum systems.

"We are a nation of laws, but also a nation of opportunity," Kimes said. "We can do both."

Kimes emphasized that her campaign is rooted in real-world experience and a commitment to delivering tangible results for families across Georgia's 13th District.
