~ Spokane police officers responded to a reported stabbing on the evening of April 27th, 2026. The incident occurred in the area of West Thorpe Rd and West Westwood Ln, as reported by a 911 caller.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with injuries consistent with an edged weapon. He was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Another male had also arrived at a local hospital with similar injuries.
After speaking with both males and witnesses in the area, it was determined that there had been a confrontation between the two individuals. The situation escalated when one of them used pepper spray against the other. Both men then produced knives and sustained injuries during the altercation.

Following a thorough investigation, officers were able to establish probable cause to charge one of the males with Assault 2nd degree. However, due to his injuries requiring medical attention, no arrest has been made at this time. The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor's office for further action.
The Spokane Police Department has not released any further information about the identities of those involved or their current conditions. They are urging anyone with additional information about this incident to come forward and contact them immediately.
As investigations continue, authorities are reminding the public to avoid confrontations and seek help from law enforcement if necessary.
