~ On the morning of April 30th, 2026, a shooting was reported in the area of 900 E. 33rd Ave. According to multiple calls received by 911, there was a victim in the front yard and someone was performing CPR.
Upon receiving the calls, Spokane police officers were dispatched to the scene and arrived quickly. They immediately began providing life-saving measures to the adult male victim. The victim was then transported to a local hospital by medics, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
As officers began speaking with witnesses and gathering information, they detained an adult male who was seen leaving the scene on foot by neighbors. After being interviewed by detectives, the male was released.

The Spokane Police Department's Major Crimes Unit is currently investigating this incident and no arrests have been made at this time. However, it is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no active threat to the surrounding community.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the medical examiner at a later time. In the meantime, anyone who may have witnessed anything or has any information is urged to contact crime check at (456-2233) referencing incident number 2026-20078846.
