~ Spokane, WA - The City of Spokane, in collaboration with regional partners and neighborhood leaders, will be conducting a wildfire evacuation drill in the Grandview/Thorpe neighborhood on Saturday morning, May 3. This voluntary exercise aims to prepare residents for a potential wildfire emergency and will not disclose the exact timing to simulate the unpredictability of a real disaster.
According to Erin Hut, Communications Director for the city, the drill is an important opportunity for residents to practice evacuating safely and efficiently. The main objectives of the exercise include familiarizing residents with evacuation routes and safety protocols, identifying potential hazards or obstacles along evacuation paths, and empowering the community to act quickly and confidently during a real emergency.
