Spokane Police booked Taylor Gudgel (36) into Spokane County Jail yesterday for 1st degree Rape Domestic Violence (DV), 1st degree Kidnapping (DV), Felony DV Order Violation, Unlawful Imprisonment (DV) and 1st degree Assault.

~ Spokane, WA- On Thursday evening, Spokane police responded to a 911 call reporting a physical altercation in the area of Greene St and Sprague Ave. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male victim with significant injuries lying in the street. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and is expected to recover.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the suspect, 36-year-old Taylor Gudgel, had assaulted the victim both physically and with his vehicle. It was also revealed that Gudgel and the victim were acquaintances and had been seen together prior to the assault.

The following morning, police received another call regarding Gudgel. A relative of an adult female victim reported that they feared she had been kidnapped by Gudgel. The female victim currently had a domestic violence protection order against Gudgel.

At approximately 2:15pm on Friday, detectives located Gudgel's vehicle in the 3700 block of east 26th Ave. Due to the seriousness of the situation, SWAT was deployed and forced entry into a nearby home where they found both Gudgel and the female victim inside.

Gudgel was taken into custody without incident and has been booked into Spokane County Jail for multiple charges including 1st degree Rape Domestic Violence (DV), 1st degree Kidnapping (DV), Felony DV Order Violation, Unlawful Imprisonment (DV) and 1st degree Assault.

The female victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of her injuries. Police are urging anyone who may be a victim of domestic violence to seek help by calling 911 in an emergency or contacting resources such as the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 or Spokane Regional Domestic Violence Advocacy at 509-481-0794.
