Spokane: Collaboration w/Pullman and Seattle PD helps locates shooting suspect

~ On the morning of September 21, 2025, a shooting occurred in Pullman, Washington following the annual Apple Cup football game. The incident left one man, a WSU football player, injured. As local law enforcement worked to locate the suspect, detectives from the Seattle Police Department's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) reached out to offer their assistance.

With the help of SIU detectives and SPD patrol officers, a search for the suspect was conducted. Through various investigative techniques, they were able to obtain a location for the suspect after he had returned to the Seattle area. The information was then shared with the Seattle Police Department.

Thanks to this collaboration between law enforcement agencies in the region, the shooting suspect was quickly located and taken into custody by authorities in Seattle. This swift apprehension is a result of the teamwork and cooperation among officers from different departments.

Officer Daniel Strassenberg of the Public Information Office commended the efforts of all involved in this case. He stated that this successful collaboration highlights the dedication and commitment of law enforcement in keeping communities safe. The investigation into this incident is ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact Pullman or Seattle PD.
