Pittsburgh Artist RansomXX's Latest Song FALL APART Blends Vicious Metal Tones With Rapid-fire Lyrics, Dark and Heavy Rap in Stunning New Single
PITTSBURGH - Washingtoner -- The Steel City's own RansomXX has yet another card up his sleeve. Combining his always rapid, lyrical hip-hop flow with a new powerful, melancholic touch of alt-metal, RansomXX injects a potent blend of grit and vulnerability into every word in his new single, "FALL APART".
From The Artist Himself
"If I could tell you one thing, it's that I made this completely from scratch at home. Producing and recording all of my own music is the thing I'm most proud of, for sure," says RansomXX. "It's honestly astounding to me that I, and people all over the world, can just make all of this music using a microphone and computer, right there in our living rooms."
How The Rap "Serum" Was Formulated
"My favorite rapper is mgk for sure. I've been a fan since "Lace Up". That upbeat, quick tempo delivery of lyrics about things that tell a story, or just plain having fun had me hooked. These days I'm loving the work by Lil Tecca, Ski Mask, Playboi Carti, Yeat, all those guys. These young artists (and their producers) definitely have a huge new wave going. I really like the way these new artists use ad-libs as melodies and countermelodies to their own lyrics, and there's something seriously special about the instrumentals! The heavy 808s paired with twinkling bells and atmospheric pads, almost makes you feel like you're in space," he says. "That's the feeling I want to give everybody."

How The Metal "Serum" Was Formulated
"I feel like growing up, we were in the golden era of Alt-rock. My generation grew up listening to the likes of Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine... I was always wanted to rap in one of those bands. Nowadays I love listening to bands such as I Prevail, Bad Omens, Bring Me The Horizon, and Falling in Reverse, just to name a few. The punchy guitar, the heavy bass that you can feel, all sitting atop a clean synth and pads that flesh out the environment. Feels like the bleeding edge of music."
Musical Alchemy
"It made me seriously consider, what would happen if you took today's newer, super clean sound of production and lyrical rap, then mixed it with the polished, atmospheric, clean sounding metal of today," he says. "I know I'm not inventing a new genre, but what I like to think I'm doing is setting a new bar for the melding of these genres. This song is just the starting point, and I'm so excited to keep working towards peak performance. Also, huge shout out to my guy Taranto. Without him singing the chorus, this song could have never happened. His amazing, clean vocals and huge screams just totally blew me away."
RansomXX? What's With The Name?
"Actually, the reason my name is RansomXX is because I'm a part of the EST family. It's a movement that mgk started back around 2011-2012, I believe. It's all about lifting each other up, unconditional peer support, encouraging people to be the best they can be, and honestly just loving everyone for who they really are, no matter what anyone else thinks. It's super dope, and I hope that one day I can work with him. It'd mean a lot to have my words reach everyone in the EST family."
