Tacoma: OMWBE Certification 201 Workshop on September 28

~ The City of Tacoma's Equity in Contracting (EIC) Program is teaming up with the Washington State Office of Minority & Women's Business Enterprises (OMWBE) to host a workshop on September 28, 2026. The workshop, titled "OMWBE Certification 201," aims to address disparities faced by historically underutilized businesses owned by minority, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals.

The event will be held from 9-11 a.m. and will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing participants to attend either in-person at the Tacoma Municipal Building or virtually. However, in-person attendance is strongly encouraged for those who are able to do so.

During the workshop, attendees will have the opportunity to start or complete their OMWBE application and become a certified business. It is recommended that participants bring their own laptop or electronic device, as well as any necessary financial statements and paperwork for the certification process.
