NEW YORK - Washingtoner -- Actor and multi-hyphenate creative Rio Rocket made a standout appearance at the IFFA 2025 Indie Film Festival Awards, held June 5th at the Frederick P. Rose Auditorium in New York City. Accompanying the radiant Lulu Lopez, who won Best Supporting Actor for her performance in Her Decision, Rocket walked the red carpet among a constellation of global stars.

The ceremony, helmed by Mukesh Modi and opened by Mayor Eric Adams alongside Indian dignitaries, capped a four-day showcase of boundary-pushing cinema. The final night dazzled with appearances from Amir Arison, Jade Shenkar, Tania Rubis, Alyson Cambridge, Albania Rosario, Valerie Greenberg, Rachel Leah, Alena Davids, and more.

Rio Rocket, fresh off his performance in the award-winning horror film NIGHTMARE, and viral trailer score "BAD BONNIE BLEDSOE", continues to expand his cinematic presence as both actor and soundtrack artist.

Rocket's diverse talents span TV (For Life on ABC alongside 50 Cent, Nicholas Pinnock, and Hassan Johnson), national commercial campaigns as the first motivational spokesperson for Lowe's, and his viral creation: the Monster Truck Musicverse — an adrenaline-fueled soundscape for motorsport culture.

"I was honored to support Lulu and thrilled to witness the IFFA champion the voices and visions of indie filmmakers from around the world. Thank you Mukesh Modi for having me," said Rocket.

Lopez, who is not only a rising actress but also a brand ambassador for IFFA, wrote, produced, and starred in the acclaimed series New to the City, which screened at the festival. Her emotional performance in Her Decision was a centerpiece of the awards night.
