~ Tacoma's Equity in Contracting Program is taking steps to address disparities for historically underutilized businesses owned by minority, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals. In an effort to provide support and resources, the program will be hosting a virtual workshop and Q&A session with the Washington State Office of Minority and Women's Business Enterprises (OMWBE) on August 6, 2025.
The workshop will cover various topics including an overview of the City's EIC Program, federal and state certification processes, tips for completing applications successfully, and how to connect with staff at both the City and OMWBE. Attendees will also learn about the required documentation for OMWBE certification and what to bring for the follow-up OMWBE Certification 201 workshop. This workshop aims to guide businesses in becoming certified and unlocking new contracting opportunities.
