~ TACOMA, Wash. - City crews are set to begin work on the southbound lanes of I-705 beneath Firefighter's Park from September 11 to 13. According to Maria Lee, the Media and Communications representative for the city, the two southbound lanes will be removed and replaced with hot mix asphalt.
To facilitate this project, the southbound on-ramps to I-705 at Schuster Parkway and Stadium Way will be closed from 8 AM on September 11 until 7 PM on September 13. The closure has been announced through public notice boards since August 30 and detours will be in place during this time.
