~ City Manager Elizabeth Pauli has announced her intention to retire from her role with the City of Tacoma, effective July 1, 2025. In a statement released on January 15, 2025, Pauli expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the community and work alongside dedicated colleagues, employees, partners, and residents.
Pauli stated that serving Tacoma has been the honor of a lifetime and she is proud of all that has been accomplished during her time as City Manager. She also acknowledged the support and passion of those who share her vision for making Tacoma a vibrant and thriving city.

In preparation for her retirement, Pauli will be working closely with the Mayor and City Council to ensure a smooth transition to new leadership. The process for selecting an Interim City Manager will be discussed during the January 28, 2025 Study Session.
Pauli's retirement marks the end of a successful tenure as City Manager and she leaves behind a legacy of progress and growth for Tacoma. The community is grateful for her service and wishes her all the best in her future endeavors.
