~ Tacoma City Council to Discuss Charter Review Committee Recommendations

On May 17, 2024, the Tacoma City Council will hold a special meeting at 9 AM in the Center for Urban Waters to continue discussions on the recommendations made by the Charter Review Committee. The meeting will take place in the Commencement Bay Conference Room and is open to the public.

The Charter Review Committee has proposed refinements to the City Charter, which serves as Tacoma's governing law and outlines the organization and basic rights of the City government. This review process occurs every 10 years.

While members of the public are welcome to attend tomorrow's meeting, there will be no media availability or opportunity for public comment. However, an audio recording of the meeting will be made available on the City's website by 5 PM on Monday, May 20.
