Tacoma: Charter Review Committee Focuses on Gathering Community Input on Monday, February 26

~ On Monday, February 26, the Charter Review Committee will be focusing on gathering community input regarding potential changes to the City Charter. This meeting, which will begin at 5:30 PM, will provide an opportunity for members of the public to share their thoughts and opinions on possible refinements to the governing law of Tacoma.

The committee, led by Staff Liaison Sonja Hallum, has been actively engaging with the community in order to gather a diverse range of perspectives. The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing for both virtual and in-person attendance options. Those who wish to attend in person can do so at the Tacoma Municipal Building Council Chambers on the first floor.

For those unable to attend in person, the meeting will also be broadcast live on TV Tacoma and tvtacoma.com, as well as on Facebook Live at facebook.com/cityoftacoma. Spanish and Vietnamese language interpretation services will also be available.

The City Charter serves as Tacoma's constitution and outlines the structure and fundamental rights of its government. It is reviewed every 10 years by a designated committee. More information about this process can be found at cityoftacoma.org/charterreview or by calling (253) 591-5159.
