~ Spokane Police responded to a report of stolen property at an apartment complex on East Lincoln Road on December 5th, 2024 at 4pm. According to the police, a community member had located his stolen bike using a tracking device. The bike had been taken from the victim's garage about a month ago.
Upon finding his property, the victim confronted a male who claimed to be the owner of the property. The victim then left the location and called 911. Officers arrived at the scene and attempted to make contact with the occupants of an apartment where additional information had confirmed that the stolen property was located.
With a search warrant granted, officers entered the apartment and found one of the occupants hiding in a closet. A large quantity of stolen items were discovered inside, including multiple delivery boxes with names of different people on them. Other items such as mail, clothing, golf equipment, and tools were also found in the apartment, none of which belonged to the occupants.

The recovered stolen items were removed from the apartment and Zack G. Bunke (39) was taken into custody for 1st Degree Possession of Stolen Property. He was then booked into Spokane County Jail. The other occupant in the apartment, identified as Amanda L. Wright (42), was also taken into custody for obstruction.
Following this arrest and recovery of a large quantity of stolen property, members of SPD's Crime Analysis Unit began contacting individuals listed on the recovered items. As a result, 21 victims have been reunited with their stolen belongings so far.
The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be brought against Bunke and Wright in connection with this case.
According to Ofc. Daniel Strassenberg, PIO for Spokane Police Department, this successful outcome was due to excellent police work by responding patrol officers and SPD's Crime Analysis Unit. He also urged anyone who has been a victim of package thefts or burglaries to report the incidents to Crime Check at 509 456-2233. Additionally, if anyone has any video evidence of these crimes, they are encouraged to inform Crime Check so that it can be collected.
