~ Spokane City is set to begin a traffic safety improvement project on the US 195 corridor starting Monday, March 23. According to Kirstin Davis, the Communications Manager for Public Works, the project aims to enhance safety and reduce congestion by installing a "J-turn" at the intersection of Meadowlane Rd. and US 195.
In addition to the J-turn, acceleration and deceleration lanes will also be added to improve traffic flow and prepare for future growth in the area. Pedestrian safety will also be prioritized with the addition of a new sidewalk along south Meadowlane Rd. between Eagle Ridge Blvd. and Turner Ave.

The project is expected to be completed by mid-to-late July, with drivers traveling both north and south on US 195 experiencing lane reductions near the Meadowlane Rd. intersection. However, access to Meadowlane Rd. on both sides of US 195 will still be available throughout the duration of the project.
Drivers are advised to slow down, stay alert, and follow signage and flaggers when present in the work zone. The City has also provided a construction map for reference.
