The altercation began after the boyfriend allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. The victim's father arrived at the house and confronted the boyfriend, who was sitting in his vehicle outside. The father demanded that the boyfriend leave, but instead, the boyfriend got out of his vehicle and began arguing with him while holding a gun.
As tensions escalated, the boyfriend's mother and brother also arrived at the scene.
