Two reports, from citizens, of a female being shot lead police to Browne's Addition where the victim was located and transported to an area hospital for treatment.

March 3, 2021, the Spokane Police Department received a couple calls from citizens saying they saw a vehicle with a female hanging out the passenger side window, claiming she had been shot. The first call was around 3:26 p.m. and another around 3:42 p.m. As officers began to converge in the area of Browne's Addition, SPD was informed the vehicle had driven behind an apartment building in the 2100 block of W. Riverside Avenue.

Officers located the victim and the vehicle driver behind the location.

It was initially thought the victim had received a life threatening injury. She was quickly taken to an area hospital for treatment. Her medical condition was upgraded to a non-life threatening injury.

The investigation is in the early stages and many details are not known at this time. Officers and detectives are trying to determine the location of where the incident took place and who was involved.

With the information obtained at the time of writing this release, it appears this will be an assault rather than a shooting incident.

As more details become available they will be shared in an updated release.
