DALLAS - Washingtoner -- Women That Soar, LLC will present the keys to a brand new, fully furnished home to one deserving, single-minority mom during its inaugural Mother's Day Brunch on Saturday, May 7th at Virgin Hotels Dallas located at 1445 Turtle Creek Blvd., Dallas, TX. The brunch begins at 11:30 AM.

In June of 2020, Women That Soar CEO Gina Grant launched a city-wide casting call in search of five single moms ready to reclaim their lives mentally, physically and financially as participants in the groundbreaking new docuseries Overcomers. These women were tasked with overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles, that had weighed them down for years, and challenged to soar to heights they never thought possible. All five moms received physical training, financial literacy courses and life coaching to empower them in their pursuit of a better life for themselves and their children with the goal of being selected as the ultimate Overcomer. The reward for their hard work being a fully furnished, new home in the revitalized Bonton area of Dallas.

The Overcomers Mother's Day Brunch is the culmination of months of hard work and dedication. "As a former single mother and minority woman, I have been so blessed to watch these five women overcome their daily challenges, obstacles and the things they thought were impossible for them to achieve," says Grant. "Providing them with the right tools and resources in their lives and watching them overcome has been extremely fulfilling for me. It has proven that if we just pour into one another, and if we take the time to lend our talents, knowledge, wisdom and resources, including finances, we can change the trajectory of the lives of underserved women and the community." The winner will be presented with the keys to their new home during the brunch and will move in this August.

The brunch will be a full celebration of not only these single moms, but mothers everywhere. Attendees will enjoy motivational guest speakers and musical entertainment by singer/songwriter Marcia Bowen-Jones and harpist Laurel McConkey. An inspirational line-up of women will discuss how they overcame the obstacles in their path and continue soaring in the areas of business, philanthropy, education and entertainment. The day's activities will conclude with a butterfly release honoring the emergence from the cocoon to flying high! Regarding the winner of the new home, Grant commented, "Out of these five ladies, everyone had things they had to accomplish over the course of the year. Each one went above and beyond to get across the finish line. One excelled far above and beyond the required milestones.  She really showed us, 'I'm ready!' Not only did she overcome her obstacles, she learned to fly, and she is on the path to really soaring."
