NEW YORK, Jan. 28, 2025 ~ The Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance (OCRA), the world's largest gynecologic cancer nonprofit, has announced a significant collaboration with the Rivkin Center for Ovarian Cancer Research, effective April 1, 2025. This partnership brings together two highly respected organizations with a shared goal of advancing research for a cure for ovarian cancer.

OCRA will be building upon the Rivkin Center's impressive legacy of funding innovative ovarian cancer research and providing crucial resources to the Pacific Northwest community. This integration will also allow OCRA to expand its reach nationally and globally, ensuring that education, support, and scientific advancements are accessible to the entire ovarian cancer community.

Audra Moran, President and CEO of OCRA, expressed her admiration for the Rivkin Center's contributions in advancing ovarian cancer research and connecting with the community. She believes that this collaboration will create a stronger foundation to support patients and families while honoring Dr. Saul Rivkin's remarkable legacy and driving progress in research.

This announcement comes just one month after The Clearity Foundation joined forces with OCRA, making it the largest organization dedicated to fighting gynecologic cancers in the world. Moran sees these partnerships as a significant step forward in their mission to accelerate research, improve patient care, and create a more cohesive network for those affected by ovarian cancer.

Since its establishment in 1996, the Rivkin Center has been at the forefront of ovarian cancer research. It has provided essential seed-funding grants that have led to groundbreaking discoveries and hosted the biennial Ovarian Cancer Research Symposium in partnership with the American Association of Cancer Research (AACR). Under OCRA's leadership, these signature programs will continue with grants and symposiums renamed to honor Dr. Rivkin's enduring contributions to the field.

Dr. Saul Rivkin, retired oncologist and founder of the Rivkin Center, expressed his confidence in OCRA as an aligned partner to carry forward their vision and amplify their efforts. He believes that this partnership will ensure the growth and success of their investments in research and relationships with the community, bringing them closer to a cure. Dr. Rivkin and his family fully support this exciting new chapter.

More details about the combined programs and services will be shared in the coming months.
