Nordstrom Rack to Open New Location in Prosper, Texas

SEATTLE, Oct. 8, 2024 ~ Seattle-based fashion retailer Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN) has announced its plans to expand its presence in Texas with the opening of a new Nordstrom Rack store in Prosper in fall 2025. The 26,000-square-foot store will be located at The Gates of Prosper, a popular shopping center that already houses well-known brands such as Target, Sephora, and HomeGoods.

Gemma Lionello, President of Nordstrom Rack, expressed excitement about the company's growth in the Dallas market and its introduction to new customers. "We look forward to being a part of the Prosper community and serving our customers with an amazing offering of great brands at great prices," she said. Lionello also highlighted the convenience that this location will offer customers, including online order pick up from both Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com, as well as easy returns.

The Gates of Prosper is owned and managed by Blue Star Land and is strategically located at the intersection of Dallas North Tollway, Preston Road, and Highway 380. Joe Hickman, general manager for Blue Star Land, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming Nordstrom Rack to The Gates of Prosper and the positive impact it will have on the community. "Nordstrom Rack will undoubtedly be a valuable addition, enhancing both The Gates and the shopping experience for our North Texas community," he said.

Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc. and plays a critical role in the company's Closer to You strategy. This strategy focuses on providing customers with a more convenient and interconnected experience across its stores and digital platforms. At Nordstrom Rack, customers can find up to 70 percent off on-trend apparel, accessories, beauty products, home decor and shoes from many top brands sold at Nordstrom stores. Additionally, core services such as online order pickup for Nordstrom.com and NordstromRack.com are available at select stores. Nordstrom Rack is also the largest source of new customers for Nordstrom.

In addition to the new Prosper location, Nordstrom will also be opening a store in Houston next spring. These new locations not only expand the company's physical footprint but also its economic impact in Texas. Currently, Nordstrom operates eight stores and 23 Nordstrom Rack stores in the state, providing over 3,800 jobs.

Nordstrom is committed to investing in the communities where it operates. Over the past four years, the company has donated more than $2 million to support its long-term partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the United States. These funds go towards recruiting, training, and engaging adult mentors and creating mentorship moments between Bigs and Littles. This includes activities such as preparing for an interview, learning to tie a tie, and helping with homework.

With its expansion plans in Texas and commitment to giving back to communities, Nordstrom continues to solidify its position as a leading fashion retailer in the United States. The new Prosper location is set to open in fall 2025 and will undoubtedly bring even more convenience and great deals to customers in North Texas.
