~ On June 25th, 2024 at 2:49pm, the Spokane Police Department received a call about an attempted vehicle theft in the downtown area. According to witnesses, a male suspect had broken into an ambulance that was attending to a medical emergency call at the intersection of Washington and Sprague.
Upon arrival, officers found the ambulance with a broken-out driver's side window. The suspect had allegedly entered the vehicle and started revving the engine before being removed by community members. The suspect was later identified as Joshua T.L. Musselman (29) and was found sitting a short distance away from the scene.
Further investigation revealed that Musselman had become upset at a nearby bank and was escorted out before heading towards the ambulance. He then proceeded to break the window and enter the driver's seat, causing damage that interfered with the medical crew's ability to respond effectively to their call.

Photos of the incident were released by Officer Daniel Strassenberg from the Public Information Office. In Photo 1, the damaged ambulance can be seen with its broken window. Photo 2 shows Musselman being detained by officers after his arrest.
This incident serves as a reminder of how important it is for individuals to control their emotions in public spaces and not resort to destructive behavior that can harm others or interfere with emergency services. The Spokane Police Department commends community members for their quick actions in removing Musselman from the ambulance and ensuring that no further harm was caused.
