NEW YORK, Aug. 19, 2025 ~ Seattle-based online remittance service company, Remitly, has announced a new partnership with LALIGA, the Spanish professional soccer league. The multi-year deal, set to begin with the 2025/26 season, aims to further support the immigrant community in the United States and Canada.

As a trusted provider of digital financial services that transcend borders, Remitly empowers millions of customers to support their loved ones with confidence while ensuring the value of their hard-earned money is not sacrificed. This partnership with LALIGA will allow Remitly to continue its mission of supporting families and communities around the world.

According to Rina Hahn, Chief Marketing Officer at Remitly, this collaboration creates new opportunities to bring people together through the universal language of soccer. The partnership will include various events as part of LALIGA's fan-focused series called El Partidazo. These events will feature soccer participation activities, appearances by LALIGA legends, and watch parties for some of the biggest matches of the season.

In addition to these events, Remitly will also have a presence during LALIGA broadcasts in the U.S. and Canada through LED boards and 3D carpets near the goal during select matches featuring popular teams such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Atlético de Madrid. As part of their commitment to promoting soccer in local communities, Remitly and LALIGA will provide all participants in El Partidazo youth pickup events with a starter kit including a soccer ball, pinnies, and cones.

During the 2024/25 LALIGA season, more than 13,000 registered fans attended six El Partidazo events held in Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami and New York City. This upcoming season is expected to host at least five events across North America.

Santiago Lucio, Head of Sales at LALIGA North America, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating that LALIGA has always had a strong connection with Hispanic Americans, serving as a shared passion that bridges cultures and generations. He believes that this partnership with Remitly will only strengthen that connection, as both organizations strive to keep fans close to the game they love and connected to their roots.

This collaboration between Remitly and LALIGA is a testament to their shared values of community, connection, and the love for soccer. As they work together to bring people together through the beautiful game, they hope to foster a sense of belonging and joy in the communities they serve across the U.S. and Canada.
