~ Spokane Police Officers responded to a report of a burglary at a commercial building on 1000 North Freya Street on January 14th, 2025 at 7:40 a.m. According to employees at the location, an unknown male was spotted prowling a vehicle on the property. The suspect fled on foot, leaving behind a red pickup truck. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had gained entry into the secure area by cutting through a fence and lock.

Fortunately, employees were able to capture a photo of the suspect before he ran away and provided it to responding officers. The abandoned red truck was found to have been reported stolen from another location. Additionally, items in the bed of the truck were identified as stolen from a nearby business.

As officers searched the area for the suspect, they received information from a witness stating that they had seen someone matching the description of the suspect heading north near Boone and Havana. A patrol officer noticed a vehicle stop in the vicinity of 4300 East Trent and observed a male fitting the suspect's description getting into the back seat. Upon stopping the vehicle for questioning, officers noticed that he appeared to be hiding something under the front seat. The male was detained and upon further inspection, officers found a loaded firearm where he had been sitting.
