~ Spokane, WA - The City of Spokane is preparing to celebrate a significant milestone as the Office of Neighborhood Services (ONS) marks its 25th anniversary. This achievement highlights a quarter century of dedicated service in promoting stronger, safer, and more connected neighborhoods.

Since its establishment, Spokane has been unique in its city code that allows residents and business owners to form neighborhood councils. These councils have the power to work directly with the city to advocate for change, address community concerns, and even receive funding for neighborhood improvement projects. The ONS staff has played a crucial role in supporting these councils and ensuring that all 29 of Spokane's neighborhoods have a direct say in shaping their future.

Mayor Lisa Brown expressed her appreciation for the ONS's work, stating, "For 25 years, the Office of Neighborhood Services has been instrumental in driving grassroots change in Spokane. This milestone is a testament to the power of community-driven solutions and the dedication of our residents who strive to make Spokane a better place for all."

This publication aims to provide an easy and engaging way for residents to learn more about how their city operates and how they can get involved. The zine will cover topics such as local municipal structures, decision-making processes, and how individuals can play a role in shaping their community.

The event details are as follows:
