A raw and unfiltered look at business, power, controversy, and the true cost of success

Washingtoner -- Detroit, MI; Entrepreneur and business leader Greg Wier is set to release his highly anticipated book, More Than Just Luck, on March 17, 2026. The book delivers a bold and unapologetic account of Wier's rise in the security and private investigation industry, along with explosive stories involving government scrutiny, high-profile television figures, and multimillion-dollar business deals that unraveled behind closed doors. More Than Just Luck is far from a traditional success story.

Entering the security business at 19 years old, Wier spent 11 years in corporate America before launching his own company in 1997. What followed was the building of a business that surpassed 2,000 employees and generated over 40 million dollars in annual revenue.

In the book, Wier details encounters involving federal regulatory pressure, including interactions tied to the FTC and IRS, and how those moments shaped critical business decisions during pivotal years of expansion.

The book also dives into Wier's relationship with major television producer Richard Dominick, known for producing provocative television such as the Jerry Springer Show, Hardcore Pawn, and many others. According to Wier's account, the drama extended beyond the screen. He describes what he characterizes as a real-life storyline involving secrecy, power, and a second family dynamic that his wife knows nothing about. Wier claims Richard's lifestyle mirrored the chaos of his daytime television show. As Wier puts it, "It wasn't just television. It was real life." Richard Dominick's relationship with Greg fell apart when disturbing aspects of his past surfaced. Greg ended the friendship after Dominick allegedly attempted to groom a 14 year old girl, long before the term became widely known. More shocking revelations, including a hidden mistress and secret child, are exposed in More Than Just Luck.

  • The truth behind scaling and sustaining large companies
