SEATTLE, June 13, 2024 ~ Seattle, WA - In a move that will greatly benefit American travelers, three major airlines have announced plans to launch routes from Seattle to Taiwan starting in June 2024. This expansion will result in approximately 46 direct flights per week, providing more convenient and efficient options for those looking to visit Taiwan and other nearby Asian destinations.

The first airline to commence operations on the new route will be Delta Airlines on June 7, followed by China Airlines on June 14. On August 16, STARLUX Airlines will also begin flying between Seattle and Taipei. This announcement has sparked enthusiastic business discussions among the travel industry in Seattle, with 35 local travel advisors attending the event.

The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA), in collaboration with local governments, travel agencies, airlines, and performance groups, organized a Taiwan Tourism Promotion Conference in Seattle on June 3 to promote these new routes and increase flights on major airlines. The event was attended by distinguished guests such as Tammy Canavan, CEO of Seattle Tourism, and Brian Surratt, CEO of Greater Seattle Partners. Attendees were treated to vibrant activities and immersive Taiwan experiences that left a lasting impression.

During the conference, the TTA unveiled a new logo and slogan - "TAIWAN – Waves of Wonder." This new branding aims to showcase the beauty and wonder of Taiwan to American travelers. The event also served as a platform for forging closer collaborations between Taiwanese partners and local agencies.

Following the successful promotion in Seattle, the delegation will head to Los Angeles and San Francisco for similar events on June 5 and 7 respectively. Highlighting the significance of the U.S. market, Director-General of TTA Joe Y. Chou will attend the Los Angeles event to encourage collaboration between Taiwanese and American tourism businesses. This initiative seeks to create partnership opportunities and inspire local agencies to develop and promote travel packages catered towards the interests of American travelers.

With these new routes and increased flights, American travelers can look forward to more convenient and accessible options for visiting Taiwan and other nearby Asian destinations. The collaboration between the TTA and various industry partners is sure to bring about exciting opportunities for both Taiwanese and American tourism businesses.
