~ Tacoma, WA- On Saturday, June 27, the intersection of E. 11th Street and St. Paul Avenue will be closed for a full day to allow for extensive asphalt repairs. The closure is scheduled to begin at 6 a.m. and last until approximately 6 p.m.
According to the City's Street Operations crews, the closure is necessary to replace 10,152 square feet of deteriorating roadway. This will involve laying down 250 tons of new asphalt at a depth of four inches.
To ensure the safety and convenience of community members, advance notice boards and traffic control signs will be placed prior to construction. Detour routes and "Road Closed" signs will also be clearly marked to guide motorists around the work zone.

While the intersection itself will be closed during this time, access to surrounding businesses will be maintained whenever possible. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience for residents in the area.
Community members are advised to plan accordingly and use alternate routes in order to minimize delays. However, if weather conditions are unsuitable for paving operations, the work may be rescheduled. Any changes in schedule will be communicated through updated notices and on-site signage.
For any questions or concerns about this project, community members can contact Project Supervisor Thomas Adams at (253) 591-5870 or via email at tadams@tacoma.gov. The City urges residents to stay informed about this closure and its potential impact on their daily commute.
