June 9, 2026 ~ At 6:28 this morning, a house fire broke out at 623 East Sanson Ave in Spokane. According to Justin de Ruyter, the Spokane Fire PIO, the fire department received reports of occupants possibly being trapped inside. The Hillyard neighborhood's Engine 15 arrived on the scene within four minutes and discovered heavy flames at the back of the house, which had also spread to a neighboring residence.
Due to the severity of the fire and ongoing reports of people inside, additional resources were requested and a second alarm was sounded. Firefighters quickly deployed a hoseline to the backyard and found that most of the fire was on the exterior. Meanwhile, other crews entered the home to search for any victims.
