~ Spokane City Council Takes Action to Address Aggressive Speeding and Street Racing

During Monday's Legislative Session, the Spokane City Council unanimously passed an ordinance aimed at enhancing public safety by addressing concerns about aggressive speeding and street racing. The ordinance, co-sponsored by Council Members Paul Dillon and Michael Cathcart, strengthens enforcement measures and provides crucial deterrents to dangerous driving that puts the community at risk.

Lisa Gardner, the City Council Communications Director, stated that this proactive step demonstrates Spokane's commitment to safer streets and reducing aggressive driving. She also mentioned that the council has received numerous complaints about excessive speeds in downtown areas and neighborhoods. This behavior poses a danger throughout the city, making it necessary for the council to take meaningful action.
