Spokane: Robbery Suspect Taken into Custody Minutes After Committing the Crime

~ At approximately 1:54pm on August 22nd, 2025, a robbery was reported to the Spokane Police Department. According to the initial caller, a male suspect had just stolen items from a business located at 1000 W Summit Parkway and was confronted by an employee. The suspect then allegedly threatened the employee by claiming to have a firearm, although no gun was seen during the incident.

The employee quickly contacted 911 after the suspect fled the scene. Responding officers flooded the area in search of the suspect, using a description provided by the initial caller. Just eight minutes after the initial call, officers located and detained a possible suspect at Cedar and Broadway.

After speaking with additional witnesses and completing their investigation, officers took Jerry G. Allen Jr., 38, into custody for first degree robbery and third degree theft. The stolen items were also recovered.

Allen was subsequently booked into Spokane County Jail on these charges. The Spokane Police Department is continuing to investigate this incident and encourages anyone with information to come forward.
