~ Spokane, WA - On the evening of January 15, 2026, a reported burglary at an apartment complex on South Palouse Highway prompted a swift response from Spokane Police Officers. According to Officer Daniel Strassenberg, Public Information Officer for the Spokane Police Department, the incident occurred just before 7 p.m.

The victim, a female resident of the complex, had returned home to find an unknown male in her bedroom. When she confronted him, she was struck in the face and sustained minor injuries from a knife or box cutter that the suspect had in his possession. The suspect then fled through a bedroom window before officers arrived at the scene.

Upon their arrival, officers established a perimeter around the area and called for assistance from a K9 unit and the Air Support Unit (ASU) in an attempt to locate the suspect. However, despite their efforts, he was not found.
