What is a Piroshky? We are often asked is "What is a Piroshky?" The simplest answer is that they are handheld pies filled with both sweet and savory fillings.

Traditionally served throughout markets and homes in Eastern Europe, their fillings are as diverse and differing as the cultures and people who make and serve them. The beauty of Piroshky is in its diversity, as everyone makes them a little differently, and recipes are passed down from generation to generation. From babushka to children.
