Viral A.M. Morning DJ Sessions, vinyl listening stations, robotic baristas and standout collaborations redefine the modern café experience. If you know you know!

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Washingtoner -- IYKYK! Coffee Lab, a forward-thinking coffee concept rooted in culture, creativity, and community, officially opened in July 2024 at the Pacific City Retail Development in Huntington Beach, California. The brand has quickly become one of Orange Counties favorite coffee and matcha destinations.

Founded by mother-and-daughter duo Dawna and Alexis Wyland, IYKYK! Coffee Lab is rooted in a lifelong passion for coffee, people, and hospitality. The brand's story comes full circle for Dawna, who met her husband at a local Starbucks over two decades ago — a reminder of coffee's ability to spark meaningful connections. Dawna set out to build a concept that disrupts the industry and goes beyond great beverages, focusing on intentional experiences, cultural influence, and authentic hospitality. Specialty coffee with a smile! Together, they've helped revitalize the former Lot 579 area of the development- bringing vibe and community back into the space.

"Our Pacific City location has been an amazing experience," says owner Dawna Wyland. "The uniqueness of the location has allowed us to introduce our concept not only to the Huntington Beach community, but to travelers from all over the world."

Alexis Wyland continues, "One of the greatest highlights of the past year has been getting to know our Huntington Beach community. IYKYK! has been warmly embraced by both locals and travelers alike."

Known for its elevated coffee and matcha experiences, IYKYK! Coffee Lab has quickly gained attention for its viral A.M. Sessions — morning coffee events featuring live DJs that transform the café into an energetic social hub. These sessions blend sound, specialty beverages, and community, redefining what mornings can feel like. The concept was also the first specialty shop in the country to test an environment where human baristas worked side by side with a fully automated, AI taught robotic barista (EVA).

The shop offers an eclectic menu that balances traditional espresso drinks with both permanent and rotating signature creations. Standout signature drinks include:
  • Bonfire Cap — a rich mocha topped with a toasted marshmallow garnish
  • Honey Love — a cinnamon, honey, and vanilla latte finished with a honey bear graham garnish
  • You Salty Dog — a salted caramel latte with hickory and Maldon salt
  • Mushroom Jazz — a mushroom-based dark mocha latte
  • Matcha Mama — a premium ceremonial grade matcha-forward offering highlighting the brand's commitment to quality and innovation
Beyond its beverage program, IYKYK! Coffee Lab collaborates with a rotating roster of beloved Southern California food brands, including Koreatown's world-famous Calic Stuffed Bagels and Long Beach's Nonna Mercato. Additional local favorites such as Bagelmania, Monster Muffins, HB Corner Market, Epic Burritos, Muffin But Luv, Sweet O's, and the Donuttery have been featured. Designed as a cultural destination, the space also features vinyl listening stations, inviting guests to experience music as an intentional and immersive part of the café.

Outside of Pacific City, the IYKYK! Coffee Lab concept also operates a semi-permanent location on the campus of Orange Coast College, along with a fast-growing catering and brand activation arm, bringing its signature coffee, matcha, and music-driven experiences to brands, campuses, and private events throughout Southern California.

The brand has future plans that include the Joy Ride Social Club—a private, design-forward community built around coffee, music, and shared experiences.

Located in one of Huntington Beach's premier lifestyle destinations, IYKYK! Coffee Lab continues to push the boundaries of café culture — where elevated beverages, beats, and hospitality meet. If you know you know!
