LOS ANGELES - Washingtoner -- Growing up in Oakland, California, 2X Super Bowl Champion Marvel Smith understands firsthand what it means to come from humble beginnings and fight for opportunity.
Today, that experience is helping inspire a new movement in athlete development for families, players, schools, and coaches nationwide.
Smith serves as Founding Visionary and Brand Ambassador behind MVP-IQ, a new sports technology platform designed to help football players improve performance, gain exposure, and better understand their game through professional-level film analysis.
MVP-IQ is led by co-founders Dwayne "DCat" Cornelius, President and a music executive, educator, and tech entrepreneur focused on developing platforms that connect real-world expertise with emerging talent, Andrew Surmani, COO/CMO and a internationally recognized educator, author, business coach, and college professor, and Kellie Smith, Co-Founder and Executive Advisor, supported by NFL mentors.

The platform provides athletes, particularly offensive and defensive linemen, with access to detailed film breakdown, development tools, and verified performance profiles that can be shared with families, players, schools, and coaches.
While most platforms emphasize highlight reels, MVP-IQ focuses on what actually drives performance, film-based evaluation and development using the same approach used at the college and NFL levels.
"Players are often judged off a few highlight clips, but that's not how the game is really evaluated," said Smith. "MVP-IQ is about helping athletes understand their performance and improve with purpose."
The platform is now opening access directly to families, players, schools, and coaches nationwide, giving all stakeholders a more active role in athlete development and recruiting preparation.
In addition to his role supporting MVP-IQ, Smith remains committed to expanding access to underserved communities through his separate nonprofit initiative, the Marvlas Sports Foundation.
