Free Community Celebration Features Live Performances, Dallas Artists & The Creatives Academy

DALLAS - Washingtoner -- This Juneteenth, the FIFA Fan Festival becomes the backdrop for a powerful community celebration curated by the Millennial Maven Creative Foundation (MMCF). The free event takes place tomorrow, Friday June 19th at Fair Park on the Choctaw Stage and brings together some of Dallas's most talented artists and community leaders for an unforgettable afternoon of music, performance, and culture.

The celebration will be hosted by the incomparable ShySpeaks, an award winning Hip Hop and spoken word artist and creative force from Oak Cliff; with support from Devin Wilmott-Johnson, the CMO at Russell Glenn.

JLexTheDJ will set the musical foundation as the event's DJ while the stage comes alive with performances from an extraordinary lineup of Dallas artists:
  • Cyani Love
  • Spaceboifresh& Th3-5TaR533D5
  • Shavon Smith and The Life Center TX
  • Kadeem Malik
  • Cardell Booker
  • HeadHuncho Amir
This will be a celebration of freedom, of culture, of community, and of the Dallas artists who carry that legacy forward every single day.

Tomorrow marks a milestone moment for the Creatives Academy: World Cup Edition; a free six week immersive creative arts and professional development program developed by MMCF in partnership with the FIFA World Cup Dallas team.

Zack Turner—Photographer & Videographer

A visual storyteller whose client roster includes the NBA, NFL, WNBA, Women's Football League, and professional soccer. Zack introduced participants to what it takes to capture compelling stories through a lens and how to build a thriving career as a creative professional in sports and entertainment.

Torry Abra—Community Engagement Officer, Credit Union of Texas

Torry brought a grounded and powerful perspective on what it looks like to use your professional platform to genuinely serve your community, connecting the dots between creative work and lasting community impact.

Sean Reed—Director of Corporate Social Responsibility, Dallas Mavericks

Sean shared how major sports organizations invest in the communities around them and why corporate social responsibility is one of the most important and growing fields for creative professionals entering the industry.

Tomorrow participants take everything they absorbed in the classroom this week and apply it in real time at the FIFA World Cup Fan Festival, an experience that perfectly captures what The Creatives Academy is all about.

"We wanted our participants' first real world experience to mean something," said Bridgette Jones, Executive Director of MMCF." Juneteenth at the FIFA Fan Festival,  curated by our team, featuring Dallas artists, and serving our community is exactly the kind of moment this program was built for."

The Creatives Academy's partnership with the FIFA Dallas team has given participants access to the infrastructure, venues, and network of one of the world's most celebrated sporting events, and tomorrow that partnership comes to life in the most visible way yet.

The FIFA World Cup Fan Festival Juneteenth celebration is completely free to attend. However due to venue capacity registration is required. Anyone who arrives without registering risks being turned away at the door.
