Traditional Martial Arts 501(c)3 holds 7thth Annual Spring Kick-a-thon across its Kirkland, Northgate, and San Diego locations
KIRKLAND, Wash. - Washingtoner -- Oom Yung Doe USA, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, recently hosted its 7th Annual Spring Kick-a-thon across its Kirkland, Northgate, and San Diego locations, raising funds for Martial Arts Scholarship and Tuition Assistance Programs. This year's event brought together 35 kickers ranging from community youth to long-time students—including 19 first-time participants.The Kick-a-thon challenges students to set personal goals and push beyond physical and mental limits in support of a greater cause. Notable achievements included 16 participants reaching over 1,000 kicks, 6 surpassing 2,000 kicks, and 5 reaching 3,000—including one under the age of 10. The 2025 Kick Queen, Dhoon, claimed her title with 3,242 kicks.Proceeds from the event support programs such as the Oliver Reese Memorial Fund, which has helped over 40 youth students access higher-level training, and Tuition Assistance programs that help remove barriers for students in need. These programs reflect the Traditional Martial Arts belief that every person—regardless of age or condition—can benefit from practice.
