"This program is about creating meaningful opportunities for players who are looking for just a little bit extra in their development," said Barry O'Melia, PDA Director. "We want to create an environment where top players from across the league can train and compete together at a very high level while still supporting and strengthening their existing clubs and teams."
The inaugural PDA season will feature four teams across boys and girls age groups, with centrally located training sessions, advanced scrimmage opportunities, and a planned end-of-season showcase event.
PDA leadership expects strong interest from players and families throughout the league. The program is specifically targeted toward impactful players currently competing on their club's top team, particularly within NPSL Division 1, Division 2, or teams playing up.
Tryouts will feature a professional evaluation environment led by experienced coaches and evaluators from across the league. Players selected into the program will participate in a high-level training environment designed to challenge players both technically and tactically while helping continue to raise the level of play throughout the NPSL.
