HoverGrease 2 is built around precise aiming, dash-heavy combat, fast strafing, projectile prediction, and arcade-inspired pacing — delivering a pure shooter experience from a top-down perspective.

Players can experiment with radically different playstyles and strategies depending on the mutant they pick:
  • Slash-and-Dash — Piggy D. and Madeye Bull specialise in aggressive melee combat, dash attacks, and high-pressure frontline damage.
  • Aim Trainer — Billy Bo, Scarlet Fox, and Peanut Piper excel at sniper-style gameplay, precision shots, laser weaponry, and ranged control.
  • Top-Down Arena Shooter — Kimmy Frog and Sophie Bunfire dominate the battlefield with rockets, grenades, flamethrowers, Molotovs, and projectile-heavy chaos.
The game is fully playable using mouse-and-keyboard, controller, or twin-stick controls on Steam Deck, preserving the nostalgic feel of classic arcade shooters while delivering modern responsiveness and competitive depth.

THE WORLD OF HOVERGREASE 2

The world of HoverGrease is a bio-cyberpunk dystopian future Earth, where mankind has unlocked many of the secrets of the human genome. It's a place over-saturated with AI, cybernetic enhancements, and biotechnology.

Every encounter is crafted to feel intense and kinetic — filling arenas with rockets, lasers, energy projectiles, explosions, traps, and close-range melee attacks in chaotic bullet-heavy battles that reward mechanical mastery and fast decision-making.

"We wanted every mutant in HoverGrease 2 to feel like a real soul trapped inside a chaotic, broken world." said Alexandra Stancu and Liviu B. Antoni. "We obsessed over every detail — their design, the way they move, the way they fight, the way they sound — because we wanted every character to feel raw, expressive, unforgettable, and deeply alive the second they appear on screen."

HoverGrease 2 launches May 22nd 2026 on Steam.
