Krista Tippett to Receive Faith-in-Action Award from the International Center for Religion & Diplomacy

ARLINGTON, Va. & WASHINGTON - Washingtoner -- The International Center for Religion & Diplomacy (ICRD) has announced Krista Tippett, founder and host of the OnBeing Project, as the recipient of the 2021 Faith-in-Action Award. Ms. Tippett will receive the award at ICRD's (hybrid) Annual Awards Dinner on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, VA at 6:00pm EDT.

ICRD's Faith-in-Action Award recognizes the unique contributions of an individual to issues of global concern and the important role that faith convictions play in their work.

"ICRD is honoring Krista Tippett for her work on the intersection of spiritual inquiry and society, including community healing, science, and the arts. Through her leadership in the OnBeing Project, Ms. Tippett has evolved a deep inquiry with people of every background to explore how faith, ethics, and moral wisdom play a role in their lives," said James Patton, President and CEO of ICRD.

"Religious convictions can be a significant factor in promoting divisiveness and enmity—or in building the trust needed to move communities toward understanding and mutual compassion. Political leaders and media have presented divergent and often distorted views of important shared concerns, and data demonstrate that Americans process these crises through ideological lenses so rigid that instant polarization has been predictable."

For over 20 years, we worked internationally to steer religious belief toward strengthening communities to address challenges to stability.
