~ At approximately 2pm on June 17th, 2026, emergency services were flooded with calls reporting a vehicle rollover near the intersection of 3rd and Perry. Upon arrival, officers discovered a vehicle on its side, blocking all eastbound traffic on 3rd avenue in the vicinity of Liberty Park. According to witnesses, the vehicle was traveling at a high speed before losing control and flipping over.
The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, identified as 27-year-old Jeremiah Gitau, was found at the scene by officers. Upon initial observation, signs of impairment were evident. After further investigation and speaking with Gitau, officers established probable cause for driving under the influence and took him into custody.
